AJP RIDERS' REVIEWS
For the first few laps it was just a matter of riding around and getting to know the new bike. Everything seemed in order and I felt comfortable. The power was not much, but small four strokes always seem to gain more with time too. After a quick stop to check everything over, I was back to the track. The suspension was soft, but seemed to resist bottoming well enough. In fact it was quite plush on the track. In a few more laps I had the confidence to clear all the jumps on the track. Once I was really up to speed, the real trait that appeared was the handling. The AJP felt extremely good in the corners. Front end feel and grip were very good.
While riding the AJP through tight single-track was extremely compliant and it had no problems being flicked from side to side. When riding less aggressive sections of the trail the fork seemed plush and friendly in the beginning of the stroke. However, when bouncing through whoops, smacking into rocks, and landing off a jump the fork created a very violent feel through the handlebar. In contrast the shock was consistent all the way through, giving great feedback through the seat. After a long day of putting the AJP PR4 Enduro 240 through its paces I was over all pleased with the bike. At the given price, this bike has plenty to offer for a someone who is new to the sport and looking to get their feet wet in the world of off-road dirt riding.
You really need to ride one. I am all about small and lite and love my 165 huskys. This bike works fantastic and feels 125 lite. Its a fantastic bike with exceptional suspension, small feel and so freaking easy to ride. I got demo bikes if you want to try one. Honestly I was all done with 4 strokes for my technical woods riding. Like them in the open but in technical find them tiring and more work. Until I rode the PR5. That bike cuts through technical single track like a hot knife through butter and is so easy and effort free.
The 600cc single cylinder engine is good for 60 horsepower, and at just over 344 pounds, that’s more than enough push to tackle the trails. With fully-adjustable Sachs suspension, front and rear, and 12.6-inches of ground clearance, there aren’t many trails that would give you a problem. Things get interesting when it comes to the dashboard display because it’s not your industry-standard TFT display. AJP PR7 fitted a removable Samsung tablet which not only displays typical information like a tachometer and speed but shows navigation and weather, as well.
